Non-sim blog--It's been over 24 hours...

since we noticed our beloved Chocolate Lab, Jake, wasn't in our yard yesterday afternoon.  We have looked everywhere we can, I have put up a craigslist notice in the pets section where we live, put the word out on my FB account, notified family in the area, and have harassed the pound every hour since noon today asking if anyone has turned him in.

The worst thing we can possibly think is starting to feel like a reality...that he was hit by a car. I am extremely heartbroken at the thought that I will never play fetch with him, or take him for a walk again.  He was/is the best dog anyone could have asked for.  He was very obedient-he always brought the ball, or Frisbee  back to you to throw it again-he protected our chickens from predators-he always let us know when someone was here (even if the person was just walking by), but most of all, he was great with our 3 year old daughter.

We took him from a woman who was moving and couldn't take care of him anymore.  We didn't have him for very long before he went missing-almost 4 months-which makes this even harder.  Even though we didn't have him for long...we felt like we had had him for years.  He was/is definitely part of our family, and even though it's looking dismal that we'll see him again, we are still hoping and praying that he will come home to us.
