He's home!!!

Woman contacted me this morning about a different ad she saw on craigslist with a found dog that fit our dogs description.  Called the woman, and found out it was our dog.  ^_^
He's home safe and sound. ♥

  3. This happened to me once with my Abby, we let her outside and she just left...and she was gone for 2 days. We put flyers all over the town and contacted everyone we knew to help find her. We soon tracked her down miles away from our house (a miracle she didn't get hit) but that was perhaps one of the most joyful days of my childhood. So glad to hear about your dog being safe :')

    1. When I was growing up, we had two dogs and the smaller of the two liked to take off during the day, but she always came back around dinner time. I remember this one time, she didn't come back until almost 10pm. She was in biiiiig trouble with my mother. It's funny because it was almost like she understood my mother and never left the yard again after that.

It's a miracle Jake didn't get hit either! The woman found him laying in the middle of the 4 way intersection just outside our property.
This intersection (taken from my front porch--same porch in the pic with Jake and my daughter)

Luckily, she found him at 2:30pm when she was going home from work, and that is not a busy time for this intersection. I was shocked to hear what time she had found him because I had put my daughter down for a nap at 2pm. After I put her down, I went over and checked on Jake, and close the blinds for my daughter, and he was sleeping under the tree out front...30 minutes later, she found him in the intersection! O_O But that day, I hadn't noticed he was missing until after she woke up from her nap (about 2 hours later) and we went outside to play with him. He's usually a really good dog about not leaving the yard (he's only left the yard one other time and it was the week we brought him home four months ago), so we never close the gate to our property (he usually went to the gate, but never beyond). Needless, to say, since he's an outdoor dog, the gate is staying closed at all times now.

  4. That was so nice of you to comment, jen. Unfortunately, I had to delete you comment because it was too nice, and I didn't want you to embarrass yourself with the niceness of your comment to someone YOU DON'T KNOW. Perhaps you should go look in the mirror and recite the niceness of your comment to yourself since you seem to need it much more than me. :-)

    Have a fabulously great day!
