I have to get 4 teeth pulled.
Four
Teeth
Pulled...
I think I almost fainted at hearing that.
Oh that thud you heard at the reception desk?
That was me fainting after hearing how much it will cost.
Needless to say, this will not be something that will be done anytime in the immediate future (maybe next month if we can get the money saved up), but for now, I'm on Amoxicillan and pain killers (even though I told the dentist I was actually not currently in any pain--I guess it's good to have just in case). I like the dentist though...he was very nice, made me feel very calm, and was very gentle, so when I do go to get this done..I will be going back to him. While he was examining my teeth, I almost fell asleep in the chair (dang those chairs are comfortable!!!!) lol.

Oh wow! :[
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your teeth!
I hope everything goes well!
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out 10 years ago so I know how it is!
I'll be praying for you! ♥
I know what it's like having your teeth removed. All four of my wisdom teeth were removed when I was 14, though they didn't pull them. What they did was they put me under anesthesia and surgically cut into my gums to remove them before the roots were fully developed. After the procedure I was kind of out of it for a few days and had to stay home from school. Lol It's also good to hear that your dentist is nice. I remember seeing one when I was little where he strapped me to the table. o_O I hope the procedure goes well and isn't too painful afterward. Good luck! :-)
ReplyDeleteI sympathize. I had the same problem, though it was all four of my wisdom teeth were impacted, and they removed six total (Four Wisdom, and 2 additional on the top). My mother drove me four hours, the only place close enough to have them pulled and he only gave me shots (9 shots). How I wanted the nitrous oxide. ^_^
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess the teeth that I thought were my wisdom teeth actually are not my wisdom teeth, but just my back molars. My gum line is so crammed that the wisdom teeth grew up *in* my gums (sounds like Michelle B had a similar situation as mine). The four that need to come out are all on the right side. The teeth on the left are fine.
ReplyDeleteAs with Hag, I'm going to need someone to care for, not only me but for our daughter, while I'm recovering. I won't be allowed to pick her up to do my normal chores with her for about 3 days. So we'll probably do this on a Friday morning, so that we can get help from my bf's sister while my bf is at work, and then he'll help over the weekend.
They have two options for me--no gas, they're in pill forms. One is like "Valium" that just makes you really happy (he said it was similar to laughing gas), and that I would be awake during the procedure and would remember it when it was done.
The other one, is a Conscious Sedation. I would still be awake and fully conscious, but after it was over...I'd have no recollection of the procedure or any conversations I had while on that medication. That actually freaks me out more than the procedure itself! LoL A little too "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" for my taste. LoL
I'm not so worried about the procedure as I was, so I'm choosing to do the "Valium" sedation.
There was no option to be put out during the procedure (he said even though it is a large procedure that needs to be done--it's not so large that they need to put me out).
