Nope, not one bit. Not planning on getting "Showtime" either. Don't need to see notifications of what is going on in my, and "my friends" (and friends of my friends) sim pages from the officials in my game. I play my game to get away from reality (and the internet), and to have fun.
I know you can turn the feature off, but I don't need to see "a friend", or a "friend of a friend" spamming the sim pages that they are "bored", or "are hungry" or whatever, in my game.
This notification system should have been added to the site when they chose to make "Simbook". If you're going to copy "Facebook", do it right.
Could you imagine the amount of notifications you would have gotten in your game if you had this patch yesterday during the 14+ hour upload fiasco? I think my computer would have shut my game down in protest!
I totally agree with you. This whole thing is such a fail - from the ingame features to the way the new "My Page" is set up. It seem like they are doing their best to ruin what the Sims is all about.
ReplyDeleteI always play offline as well, because I don't like programs running in the background while I play and I intend to keep on doing that.

ReplyDeleteI have no plans to be getting this game either and I know there are alot of other people thinking the same thing so when EA finally realizes that their sales on this horrible EP is pretty low maybe then they will get their head out their rear and start listening to the simmers...but than again that is wishful thinking lol!

It's turning into an online sims game. Interactive sims game. Which I know there is *some* people that want that(those seem to be the ones that missed the "Sims Online" failure from the original Sims heyday).

I don't mind the pages so much...there are some things they need to work on (like making the notification system work on their site! not in the game...), but I don't like the way the game seems to be heading. I'll continue playing in hopes that it will get turned around, but...my gut says that's a "hope" that will be crushed.
I couldnt agree more ladies. Infact, I've taken a rather novel route of reporing each achivement on my wall feed as 'harrassment' or I choose 'other'. The reason - SPAM!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I know! I hate what EA's doing to the series. It's my chill game-- I don't care about someone else's minute by minute "activities". I certainly don't want some jerk's ugly sims walking around my world.

I also remember the stupidity of of Sims Online. Not every game has to be online.
