My simself is a grandma! And my game is acting up after patching---shocking

So first...my simself and my bf's simself (who are married in my game) are grandparents! ^_^  Their son, Logan, and his fiancee had a baby girl name, Kyla. :)

Now for the patch issue.  Grrrrr.....

I never used to take out my mods/CC when I patched.  About 6 months ago I decided I better start doing so because I have so many, and I don't want to lose my game or my CC/Mods.  Well, ever since doing so...I've had headache after headache when patching.  I never had issues with patching when I left the mods/CC in their folders.

So yesterday, I decided to install the new patch.  I took out my mods and CC, then patched my game to 1.38.  I then went and got the updated mods.  The ones I use are all updated to work with the patch so I was able to get them all. After doing that, I put everything back, and that is when the nightmare began. The game loaded normally.  My saved file loaded normally, but the saved game (my legacy family) is frozen when I go to play them expect for the group icon above their heads (because that is how I left them last time), and the trees moving. I have been pulling my hair out since 2pm yesterday (Sept. 4) trying to find the issue.  Thought it was because I hadn't updated the pose player...nope.  Thought it was some other package files...nope.  Went and re-downloaded my  mods to ensure I had updated all my mods, they were, but I still had the issue.  Finally, I took all my package files out except for my mods.  The game did the same thing.  I took the mods out and started putting them back one at a time, and found that when I put in Error Trap, the game would act up.  Thinking I had found the issue, I put all my package files (minus Error Trap) back in the game.  The game loaded up...and did it again.  So now I have to go through all my package files and find which one is causing this issue!  All I want to do, is play my game dammit!

  2. Oh, no! I do it the same way, taking out the mods folder before patching. I don't have error trap, but so far I haven't had any problems. Although I haven't played my family (Atsumi & co) since I patched, maybe I should check on them.

I hope you get it sorted out - if all else fails, sometimes a fresh start helps. Like saving them to the bin and start a new save with them.

    PS! Congrats with the granddaughter:)

  3. Thank you ladies! I got it fixed...took about 24 hours after I patched to finally find the problem. Turned out it was a memory mod I had was conflicting with Twallans MC mod (which is weird because I had those two before the patch and they worked fine with each other), a chin width mod (booo!) and I had to remove Error Trap! I was so scared to remove Error Trap because I have never been able to play without it, but I was surprised because the game is working just fine without it. I was able to save my family as well, so I'm really happy. Especially now that my heiress (Felicity) is pregnant. ^_^

  4. How weird about those mods suddenly conflicting, that patch most have added something new to the game play. But good news about your game working again - and congrats on the baby that's on the way:)

  5. I had to put Error Trap back in. Game crashed after 15 minutes, 3 times. Thought it was conflicting with the update, but now it's working just fine. (???) Computer games....I have a love/hate relationship with them. lol
